b:friend is announced as Dyce Energy’s Charity of the Year
We are thrilled to announce that Dyce Energy has chosen b:friend as their charity of the year.
The Rotherham-based energy supplier company will support b:friend’s work through various fundraising activities, and their team also look forward to engaging and connecting with the local older community.
Carl Fisher, Managing Director at Dyce Energy, said:
“Celebrating the spirit of community, Dyce Energy is honoured to join hands with b:friend, an organisation dedicated to alleviating loneliness among older adults. We chose to partner with b:friend as we wanted to support a charity in our local area, we chose a range of different local charities and put this to a staff vote as we wanted to select a cause our staff could get behind.
“Our partnership with b:friend resonates deeply with our values, as we believe in the transformative power of human connection. Together, we aspire to brighten countless lives by sharing laughter, stories and companionship with those who may feel isolated.”

“Our commitment to supporting b:friend goes beyond just fundraising; it’s about active engagement and raising awareness in our community.
“Each month, part of the Dyce Energy team will participate in sessions at local community centres, providing hands-on support and creating connections with those that attend.
“But that’s just the beginning…
“We have an exciting array of fundraising events we are hoping to hold such as our sponsored Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a local dragon boat race and even a charity gala featuring drinks, food, games, and lots of prizes. To complement these major events, we will be hosting a series of year-round mini-events such as office quizzes, games, and sweepstakes.
“Furthermore, we’re proud to announce that we will be launching a new dedicated section to our website that will focus on the charities we are supporting, complete with a link to our Just Giving pages for easy donations. This link will also be featured prominently within our quarterly newsletters to ensure that our community stays informed and engaged in our mission to make a difference.”
