Janet and Amanda

Amanda:

“I really enjoy it. When you sign up to be a volunteer you’re perhaps a little apprehensive that it’s going to time consuming or it’s going to be hard work. But one hour a week is not exactly hard work and it’s an absolute pleasure to come. I work as a criminal solicitor and generally my work is quite busy but just coming and sitting and having an hour is good. I feel like Janet’s very quickly become quite important. I need that hour for my sanity.”

Janet:

“I can go two or three days without talking to anybody. There are days when I haven’t heard my own voice. But now, it’s lovely to know that somebody is coming.”
