Have fun & make a difference! Volunteer as a Social Club Leader

Are you looking for a volunteer role where you can use your skills to build a community, be creative, and help connect people with each other? Volunteer with us as a Social Club Leader.

We are looking for volunteers to run a weekly community Social Club for older neighbours in South Yorkshire.

You will help combat loneliness and social isolation, boost well-being and meaningful connections for older neighbours – and have tons of fun along the way!

About the Social Clubs

To reach more older neighbours in the community, b:friend introduced volunteer-led Social Clubs as part of the charity’s model. The Clubs are inclusive and friendly spaces where local older folk can meet friends over a cuppa and try a new activity, such as a game or a quiz.

What we are looking for

A volunteer who is passionate about bringing people together in the community in South Yorkshire, and is happy to use their creative and interpersonal skills to run a club independently with support from b:friend staff.

Further details

Venue to be decided based on the location of the volunteer. We welcome applications from b:friend’s South Yorkshire areas: Sheffield, Barnsley, the Dearne, Rotherham or Doncaster.

The club sessions are 1.5 hours long, plus set-up & clear-up time.

The club sessions will run on a weekday that works for the volunteer, during the hours of 10am and 4pm.

You will be supported by b:friend staff throughout your volunteering. We’ll source refreshments and resources, help with promotion and session planning, and ensure you enjoy the experience as much as the older neighbours.
